Short version: ZEBRA doesn't want your data. Your videos never leave your device.
Your videos stay on your device
Zebra Video Editor and its video compressor work entirely in your browser. Videos, photos and music you add are read from your own device, edited there and the exported file is saved straight back to it. Nothing is uploaded to ZEBRA or any other server.
What is stored in your browser
So that you can continue editing later, the editor saves your projects and a copy of the media you add in this browser's private storage (IndexedDB) on this device. It is never sent anywhere and other websites cannot read it. Projects do not sync between devices or browsers.
To delete a project, use Delete in “Your projects” on the editor page. To delete everything at once, clear this site's data in your browser settings (site settings or “clear browsing data”). Clearing browsing data also removes your projects, so export your videos to keep them.
Your light/dark theme choice and a few editor settings (such as the timeline zoom) are saved in your browser too. The compressor keeps a video only in the page's memory until you close the tab or choose another one.
The editor's own files (its code, styles and fonts) and the pages of this site you visit are also kept in your browser's cache storage, so the editor opens faster and works offline. They contain none of your videos or projects, are replaced when a new version comes out, and clearing this site's data removes them.
Libraries and fonts
The video engine (mp4box.js and mp4-muxer), the icons and the fonts used for text are files served from this website. They load when you need them and do not send anything anywhere.
Analytics
If we enable analytics, it will be anonymous and limited to short codes: that the tool was opened or used, which kind of file was imported (video, photo or audio), which editing features were used (for example text, layers, music, transitions, filters, speed or split; each at most once per editing session), which export size was chosen, whether a download completed and a short error code. We never record file names, video contents, text you type, durations or personal details. Analytics that use cookies will only run after you agree.
Advertising
ZEBRA may show clearly labelled advertisements. Advertising scripts only load after you give consent. Ads are never required to use the editor or to export.
